Kites Team Bites Nails As Ash Clouds Hover Over London Premiere

For a while it seemed touch-and-go-go-not-gone for the hyper-anxious team of the Kites cast and production members who were in New York for the premiere on Sunday .

The team comprising of Hrithik Roshan, Barbara Mori, Sussanne Roshan, Rakesh Roshan and wife Pinky Roshan, Anurag Kashyap and wife, Rajesh Roshan and wife, plus senior members of the Reliance Big Pictures team were supposed to fly out of New York after the premiere on Monday evening for the London premiere at Leicester Square on Tuesday.

Traffic Stops At Times Square For Hrithik Roshan

Hrithik Roshan proved a real and literal traffic-stopper in New York on Sunday night when all traffic was halted for him to sprint across 42nd Street to meet his fans.

Amidst heavy security bandobast at Times Square, the New York premiere of Kites concluded on Sunday evening to a roaring ovation. There were some heart- stopping moments of security hazard caused mainly by Hrithik Roshan’s fan-concern when breaking all protection protocol the star made a dash across the bustling 42nd Street from the venue of the premiere to eager fans across the road.

Hrithik Roshan’s considerate gesture towards fans created panic for the tense and anxious Kites team.

Star Hrithik Roshan takes guided tour of newly opened BIG Cinemas Manhattan

BIG Cinemas, India’s largest cinema chain, a division of Reliance MediaWorks Limited and a member of Reliance ADA Group, invited Indian superstar Hrithik Roshan – who is currently starring in the eagerly anticipated international Bollywood film KITES, distributed by Reliance BIG Pictures- to present a special screening of his first ever movie at the newly opened BIG Cinemas Manhattan (in Midtown East, New York) to an audience of competition winners.

BIG Cinemas organized a special screening of Hrithik Roshan’s debut movie ‘Kaho Na Pyar Hai’ (Say You Love Me) which was a rage and smash hit in the year 2000, making Hrithik a instant superstar.

Katrina minds the title of Zoya’s film!

Zoya Akhtar’s film Running With The Bulls is again going for a name change, apparently on the insistence of Katrina Kaif. It has also been reported earlier that Katrina is doing quite a few stunts in the film including dirt biking and deep sea diving. The film also stars Hrithik Roshan, Abhay Deol, Farhan Akhtar and Kalki Koechlin. Farhan is also helping sister Zoya with the dialogues of the film. After dropping the name Running With The Bulls, as the prediction of an English name of the film would not be digested well by the Indian audiences was preconceived, it was decided that the film would be titled as Zindagi Na Mile Dubara.

“It’s a perception that ‘Kites’ has been delayed” – Anurag Basu

What does the man at the hot seat, Anurag Basu, feel about the film finally reaching a finishing mark? After all this is the longest time that he has spent on the making of any film of his and the delay in release can be expected to be frustrating.”First and foremost let me confirm that there has been no delay in the release of ‘Kites’.

It is a perception that has been built over a period of time but we never ever announced the release date. The only time it was done, that was for the month of May and we are sticking to that”, says Basu whose last release was ‘Life In A Metro’.But what does he feel about the perception which has been built? Barbara Mori: “I’m Coming Back For Another Movie In January”

Barbara Mori is coming back to Mumbai for another film after Kites.

Guarded but ever-effervescent, she says, “I have another film in India to be shot in January, I think. I can’t talk about it right now. I will when all the details are worked out. But it’s a big film. I’d love to do many films in India.”

Barbara’s English in her words, “…is not the best, but not so bad either.”
