The music of Mani Ratnam’s film, Raavan, was launched on Saturday night amidst much fanfare and performances by the film’s lead actor Abhishek Bachchan and music director AR Rahman.

Aishwarya Rai-Bachchan, the lead actress of the film, was the highlight of the event as she was the host to introduce the film, draped in a cream colour saree with red embroidery.

Tamil superstar Vikram who makes his debut in Hindi with Mani Ratnam’s Raavan is a traumatized man.

While in the Hindi version of Raavan he plays Aishwarya Rai’s cop-husband Dev in the Tamil version he plays the brutal outlaw Veera and that too with both the versions being shot simultaneously. Vikram was constantly running in and out of the two completely different characters makeup and languages, sometimes within half an hour.

This year’s most awaited Bollywood film, Raavan will have its music release just two days from now, on April 24. And the excitement for it is already in the air.

According to sources, Asha Bhosle has rendered her voice to a song in the Tamil version of Raavan. Also, one of the tracks, ‘Kata Kata’, features artists Ila Arun, Sapna Awasthi and Kunal Ganjawala. The video of the song was shot in Jhansi, with 500 dancers and is choreographed by Ganesh Acharya. The big budget song took four days to wind up.

According to reports in the media, Aishwarya Rai would play the role of former late Pakistani Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto. The movie would be produced by UTV and the officials at the production house are busy negotiating with the Pakistani officials and Mrs. Bhutto’s family.

I don’t think it’s a good idea to make a movie on somebody who has passed away recently. Moreover, there are still confusions over her assassination. And I don’t think Aishwarya is capable to do that role.
