Abhishek Bachchan is definitely following the footsteps of his legendary father Amitabh Bachchan as he has bagged the ‘Best Anchor Male Award 2010’ for his debut show ‘National Bingo Night’ in Colors.

Ashwini Yardi, the programming head of Colors, has handed over the award to Abhishek at the event in Mumbai. He has got this talent inherited from his father and gave the game show a feel of larger than life. This achievement must have made Big B proud of his son.

Abhishek bonded with the ‘Chak Dhoom Dhoom’ kids very well and enjoyed fully. Even while at stage, he did not forget to mention about these talented kids of the dance show, who performed at the ceremony.

Colors will air the awards function today. These awards were given to recognize and salute the brilliance amongst the debutantes in television.

Abhishek Bachchan is Neck-Deep in Action Flicks

After three back-to-back action films – Mani Ratnam’s Raavan, Ashutosh Gowariker’s Khelenge Hum Jee Jaan Se and Abhinay Deo’s Game – Abhishek Bachchan has had enough action to last him a while. He’s all set for a complete change of pace with three comedies to be directed by Tarun Mansukhani, Anees Bazmi, and Vipul Shah.

Mithun’s Character Chopped out of new Agneepath, Solo-Hero Film won’t Star Abhishek

You may think Abhishek is the first, last and natural choice to play Amitabh Bachchan’s role in a new-age remake of the 1990’s cult gangster film Agneepath. In fact it was presumed by a large section of the entertainment industry that Abhishek would play the eponymous part of Vijay Dinanath Chauvan while Jaya Bachchan will play Vijay’s mother, previously played by Rohini Hattangadi in the original directed by late Mukul Anand.

However, it has now come to light that Abhishek was never offered the lead in the Agneepath remake.

Crucial Nine Months ahead for Abhishek Bachchan

When ‘Raavan’ opened to below average houses on Friday, it was mauled by the audience as well as the critics and showed no improvement over the weekend, it was certain that this Mani Ratnam film won’t even become a respectable disaster like ‘Kites’. Respectable? Because ‘Kites’, despite all its negatives and nothing much to write home about, still managed a good first weekend for itself that helped it come closer to the 50 crore mark as the lifetime total. This means that the film had the ignominy of being the biggest disaster ever with the highest total for a disaster/flop tag. Before ‘Kites’, the ‘position’ was held by ‘Chandni Chowk to China’, ‘Delhi 6′ and ‘Tashan’ which were the ‘highest grossing flops’ ever with a final total managing to cross 30 crores.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan on Raavan, Abhishek Bachchan and Mani Ratnam

Raavan has been a gruelling experience for you?

Why just me? Everyone in the film has gone through an equal amount of hardships to create a film we all believe in. There we were, getting drenched in the rain, and Mani Ratnam , Santosh Sivan …everyone was there facing the weather. We were all friends in the project. Everyone was there for one another. We could joke say it was like an adventure sport, or a video game while we were making our way through the most impossible conditions. But we knew what the truth was.

Were you prepared for the severe hardships when you read the script?

It was still a bit of shock and surprise when we had to face the climactic conditions in the jungles. On top of that Mani loves to make on-the-spot changes . He improvises all the time. He doesn’t want to strictly follow the written word. He’s a master of creating magical moments out of the seemingly ordinary. What he does is incredible. Just the pleasure of working with him again (after Iruvar) was amazing.
