Music Review: Love Story 2050

My expectations from this soundtrack were huge…because I really thought this one would mark the return of my old favorite Anu Malik. Considering that Harry Bhwaja is launching his son in the film, that makes the expectations even higher. Harry Bhwaja has always had solid soundtracks with at least a couple memorable songs from each movie. (Dilwale, Diljale, Qayamat, & more recently Mein Aisa Hi Hoon)

love story 2050

Milo Na Milo (Shaan) – You only have to hear this song once to know it is a chartbuster…Anu Malik shows that he still has big hits left in him…although I must say that part he sings himself could have been better…loved the strange robotic sounds throughout the song! (you can tell its Anu Malik himself making those sounds). Rating: ★★★★★

Meelon Ka Jaise (Kay Kay & Alka Yagnik) – Amazing effort from Anu Malik….the song is one of the most melodious of the year so far! Rating: ★★★★☆

Mausam Achanak (Shaan & Alka Yagnik) – Song itself isn’t bad at all…but the dialogue in the beginning is horribly stupid sounding! Another decent song from Anu. Rating: ★★★☆☆

Lover Boy (Alisha Chinoy) – This one is a complete miss…lyrically and musically a disaster. Rating: ☆☆☆☆☆

Aa Gaya Hun Mein (Kay Kay) – In one word this song is best described as strange…Anu misses the mark again. Rating: ★☆☆☆☆

Sach Kehna (Kunal Ganjawala) – You can tell Anu Malik put in a lot of effort in this song but the end result doesn’t really impress. Rating: ★★☆☆☆

Love Story (Shaan) – Here is the title song…starts off with annoying dialogues again….musically this song has a convenient tune used that we have all heard before. Cheap! Rating: ★☆☆☆☆

Overall Rating: ★★½☆☆
Love Story is a mixed bag…has a few good ones and a few bad ones. And looking at director Harry Baweja’s musical history thats how most of his soundtracks are.
