Jab We Met is Cute and Sweet
We have seen thousands of love stories in hindi cinema, and love stories can’t get any different. What makes Jab We Met different from the regular run of the mill love stories is the flawless execution by Imtiaz Ali and the spirited performances by the lead pair, Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor.
Jab We Met is a story of two individuals from different walks of life. How they meet, get separated and again get united forms the crux of the story.
Kareena Kapoor pulls yet another magnificent performance. She plays bubbly as well as depressed characters at equal ease. We think that no one in recent times has played the bubbly part as good as kareena kapoor.
Shahid Kapoor looks and acts like Shahrukh Khan in few scenes, but overall a flawless portrayal of a depressed lover in the first half and a confident businessman in the second half.
The movie works mainly due to the onscreen chemistry of Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor. It won’t be wrong if we say that this is today’s SRK-Kajol paring. Although they have separated in real life, but in reel life, they are rocking.
At no point we feel that Imtiaz Ali is a debutant director. He handles the subject like a veteran.
Pritam’s music gives the movie the right appeal. Bhangra numbers and romantic tracks are equally balanced. Mauja hi Mauja is already a rage. The music is only going to be more popular in the coming days.
Jab We Met is a movie you can watch with your family. Highly recommended.
