Om Shanti Om was nothing more than a tribute to this living legend (especially the Dewaangi song) and you can see the results. The film is on its way to becoming the biggest hit of all times. Akshay has come a long way. He started off as looking like a big haired flop actor who came to the film industry not to get fame but to raise enough money so he could get a decent hair cut. Those days are gone now as the new Akshay not only has a sexy haircut every movie but it seems like all his movies are hits. Whether it be Bhool Bhulaaiya, Namaste London, or Heyy Babyy, quietly but surely, Akshay is bagging hit after hit. |

Kareena can be brilliant in films. But then she can also be annoying and over the top. Watching Kareena films is sometimes like being on a roller coaster ride. Despite this we cannot complain because she is the sexiest actress of 2007. The face, the dancing, and the acting – “it’s rocking!”. |

Rani may not be a beauty goddess like the others on the list, but she is definitely one of the prettiest. When it comes to acting she arguably is the most versatile actress. Despite 2007 being a down year for her she will without a doubt be back in 2008. It would be nice to see her come in a Yash Raj film with SRK! Rumors are floating in the media that Aditya Chopra has casted Rani Mukherjee, Preity Zinta and Shahrukh Khan in his next movie – We hope they are true. Debut film – SRK as the hero – Biggest hit of the year. Life is good for Deepika as she has accomplished in one movie what many cannot do in a lifetime. Not only did she show some acting talent, but she is one hot babe who has the audiences as well as the cricketers drooling over her. In 2006 we were seeing this hot mirchi in every other movie it seems. But now in 2007 she is nowhere to be found. It seems her golden run is over. But we still do have a small bit of hope that she will return to her glory in the coming year with Drona and Love Story 2050. Especially considering that she performed very well in a lot of those movies in 2006 (which is now remembered as the “Year of the Himesh”, just kidding! ). |
Some of the top names like Abhishek Bachchan, Hrithik Roshan, Aamir Khan, John Abraham, Preity Zinta, Amrita Rao, Aishwarya Rai, Bipasha Basu couldn’t make it to the list. They were out because their movies flopped, they did not have any release, or they weren’t good enough to beat the ones in the list.

@rishad – you have a point but aamir khan is not a mainstream actor now. He is doing 1 movie every 2-3 years and in 2007 he did not have any releases…until now with TZP

@A.Haseeb….Vidya Balan was definitely very good in Bhool Bhulaiyya, but we have not seen enough from her to say she is a top actress….yet.

I think your list is crap. Firstly SRK is not starting to reach a level no other star has reached. He can never and will never reach the heights Big B has. The only reason SRK is popular is because he has good marketing and PR people and they obviously buy the media to make big claims about him. Dont forget he has had many flops. In every film, SRK plays SRK, he does not really go into the character. The same expressions, the same laugh, the same style of talking, the same actions. If you have seen one of his movies you have seen all. And its so clear that he feels treatened by BIg B even though Big B is old enough to be his father. SPK has alot to learn about acting, he needs to learn how to really get into the character but problem is he is so full of himself that he insist on playing SRK for every character and role.
If your list is going by hits, then Akshay should be at number 1 as he has been having back to back hits which something not even SRK has managed to achieve. However if you are going based on acting skills, I would still say that Akshay should be number 1 and abishek should be in the list as well and of course Amir Khan should be in number 2 although I would say that Aamir Khan is one of the best actors today, the reason I placed him at number 2 is because he does not do much films and we only get to see him once every 2 or 3 years. If he does more films, I would place him at number 1. If anyone can take or at least reach the level of Big B in terms of acting, I would vouch for Aamir and Akshay, not SRK
