IIFA is One of the Sri Lanka’s Biggest Event: Jacqueline Fernandez

The 11th edition of the IIFA awards event is going to kick start on 3rd June amidst all the controversies that surround the prestigious International Indian Film Academy. The event will be graced by several Bollywood superstars and their fans, who will be taking a trip to the Emerald Island to meet their stars.

The Sri Lankan Beauty Jacqueline Fernandez, who has made her mark in Bollywood, is very excited about the event taking place at her motherland. In a recent interview, she revealed that the IIFA is one of the biggest events to be held in Sri Lanka. The former Miss Sri Lanka has quite a few roles to play at the event. She will be performing with a dance troupe from her native country and will also be walking the ramp for the designers Manish Malhotra and Yoland.

Though, the big Bollywood stars such as Shahrukh Khan, Arjun Rampal, AB Junior and his wife will be missing the event, most of the Bollywood stars would be present in Colombo. Hotshot designer Manish Malhotra tweeted that he has been working overtime on the collection that he will be presenting at the IIFA fashion night.

The charity match to be played between the B-town stars and the Sri Lankan team is also being looked forward to. Hrithik Roshan is supposed to lead the Bollywood team. The main event will be broadcast globally on the Star Plus for the viewers, who will be watching from home. IIFA Awards will act as a connecting bridge to improve the relations between the two nations, which had weakened post the LTTE war.

Let’s hope, the event turns out to be a huge success and manages to bring India and Sri Lanka close again.
