I would just like to add something here. When we publish Science research papers 90% of the papers are inspired from other different journal papers and 10% is authentic work. Only 0.005% papers published are qualified for originality. Believe me but its the truth. But on the other hand the journals publish it without calling it plagiarism because we reference that original article in the end. There is no such rule in music industry because it is not harming directly to the original music creator instead I believe when you try and search for the original music the original artist gets more famous. I personally enjoy Pritam’s music. I am an avid listener and I listen to huge variety of western songs both old and new including Indian classicals and movie songs sung my Kishore, Rafi and I do not find it offensive what Pritam is doing. He is not harming the others who wants to create original music so why are we trying to harm his image. He makes what sells and we are really not here to judge his caliber. We need to listen and filter the music which we like. Thanks for reading! Have a happy life.

hey guys, i donno weather you all would like my this point. but do you ever say no to a technology which is not indian?
or a bit elaborately— do you ever say no to medicines which are not indian? or to the X ray when you are all fractured just because it is not indian? huh

i dont know how many of you would rather die than to use these foreign technology on you. atleast i dont make such skeptical choices.
so why not extend this idea to music?
why be restricted by narrow bindings of just indianness? OK creating an original is the greatest job, i accept but it is also a difficult job to manupulate the original in a way that suits the palate of people. thats it and i n my opinion pritam is the best among them. atleast much better than the hermophrodite Anu Mallik, known to spoil the originals worse than even you can imagine.

so frnds cheer up, open your hearts, listen to a good lot of world music just to discover the source 4m where pritam mamu copies, and also to the marvels of the art copying and master pieces of pritam mamu.

gosh as far as i am concerned i love the songs. and i love the song bheegi bheegi 4m gangster much much more than prithibi ta naki by mohiner ghoraguli( bengali band) due to its lovely mixing of music.

Do you know not only Pritam but Great Thief and Criminal R.D. Burman was a thief along with other so called GREAT (!!!) Music Directors like Anu Malik,Anand Milind, Anand Raaj Anand, Bappi Lahiri, Jatin Lalit, Kalyanji Anandji, Laxmikant Pyarelal, Nadeem Shravan, OP Nayyar, Pritam Chakravarty, Rajesh Roshan,Salil Chaudhry, SD Burman, Sandeep Chowta, Sanjeev Darshan, Shankar Jaikishen?

The problem is these music directors had to and has to do a lot of song like 50 to 100 in a year while a western music director may create 50 song in his 25 years of life. Do you feel such a huge number of ORGINAL songs can be produced by a human being?

The main thing is these Criminal along with RD Burman did not or do not express the main source. RD Burman is famous for songs like Mehbuba or others which are FULLY Coppied. Check this web site : http://www.itwofs.com

Pritam has been my favourite music director. However very recently i found out about this issue.
I think anyone who loves music, loves to score and compose music would 100% agree with “MusicLovers”.
The law for such things are simple and clear.
For now, Pritam should at least give the credit to the original composers. He certainly has moulded the original scores and made excellent numbers which if would not have been the case, we would have never heard these tunes.
My final verdict would be that the Original Composer should get the credit and some financial benifit based on the sales. This would make all happy and both the original composer and the new composer would share a good professional relationship and there will be PEACE.

i am amazed to see that you are asking whats wrong in copying the music!!! dear oh dear…. people love the music but why?? because the composer has made efforts to make it as melodious as possible. so don’t you think the credit should go to the original, encouraging and appreciating his work.
and by the way, i firmly believe you do the same thing in your professional life taking credit of others work, that why you are defending a copy cat.

I think the Title ‘Music Director” is misleading and has lost the real meaning. Note that its “Director” not “Creator”. A person who directs the music for a particular movie is given that Title. Who says that Music Director should give music which is created by him only. Or they should be named as “Music Remaker”

In today World, with so much to do and so less a time, its very obvious that you will “get inspiration” from somewhere. Dont people collect texts from the Internet to make Projects? Its the same.

Jo bikta hai woh chalta hai. Woh bikta tab hai jab woh accha lagta hai. Aam khao - ped kyoon geente ho.

In any case how many people listen to Korean, Indonesian, French Music? Very few!! Atleast thanks to Pritam we are listening to World Music. Who has the time to listen to World Music. Just follow Pritam’s Music.

I thought Pritam was a musical genius like R D Burman, S D Burman, A R Rehman, Shankar Jai Kishen, Laxmi-Pyare. But he turned out to be the best amongst Anu Mallik, Bappi Lahiri & gang.

Whatever one says! Pritam’s music is melodious, so what if its not “created” by him. Accha copy karta hai.

Would continue to love the Music remade by him.
