One thing Himesh Reshammiya’s films are giving us is new talent in the industry. First it was Hansika Motwani, and now it is a gal named Jennifer Kotwal
This hot young babe is a model and actress in Kannada Film Industry. She was featured in the 2001 Subhash Ghai film Yaadein, but only in a guest appearance. Remember that Karzzz is also a Subhash Ghai film, and apparently he is the one who wanted her in it. She was also seen in Abhishek Bachchan starrer Bas Itna Sa Khwaab Hai playing Abhishek Bachchan’s sister. Jennifer Kotwal started her showbiz career from the TV series Just Mohabbat opposite Tarzan-the wonder car star Vatsal Seth. Her commericials include Dabur Chawanprash, Lakme, and a noodles ad with Shah Rukh Khan.
So she gets her “actual” Bollywood debut in the much hyped Karzzz opposite Rock Star Himesh Reshammiya. Can the couple pull it off?

First thing to note is that the main purpose of this film is to inform rather than to entertain. If you are looking for a mast masala film to pass the time, stay away from this one.
In short, the film is about a boy (played by Darsheel Safary) who has dyslexia and the hardships he goes through because of this disorder. It is commendable that Aamir Khan made a film about a disorder that many people in South Asia do not know about. This film will raise awareness for sure. Acting by Darsheel Safary is excellent. Watching Safary’s escapades in the first half is very entertaining but in the second half the movie loses steam.
The pace of the film is slow, and it drags quite a bit in the second half. Aamir Khan’s character does not make his entry until more than an hour into the film. And what an entry he makes - it seems no film is safe from an absurd bollywood song. In this one we have the teacher (Aamir Khan) dressed up as a clown dancing and singing with the class.
Aamir Khan is good (as always) but maybe a little over the top in the caring department. So much so that he has tears in his eyes throughout the movie. But these tears that stay in the eyes and never come out are mandatory in most Bollywood films it seems.
Considering the story is so simple, it would have been good if they had shortened the film a bit.
7.5 out of 10. At the end of the day this film is definitely worth a watch. A nice movie for the entire family.

This film has been fairly low key which is surprising considering it has “hidden” star power. Perhaps they should have advertised the fact that this film is co-produced by SRK and has Himesh Reshammiya as a guest composer!
- Tum Mile (Himesh Reshammiya) - Heres a pleasant surprise! We were thinking the next time we would hear something by Himesh Reshammiya would be next year in Karzzz! Sung by KK and Sunidhi Chauhan, this is a sweet and romantic track which will remind of you of the songs Himesh used to compose before he started singing - although his fans may not ever notice the song is composed by him since he didn’t sing it himself! GOOD!
As was the case in Darling, the rest of the songs are composed by Pritam.
- Tere Bina -Techno with a little bit of Middle Eastern thrown in! This song is sung by our favorite Sunidhi Chauhan and seems like it will be an item number. ROCKING!
- Ya Baba - Sung well by Sunidhi but the song is ruined by too many YA BABAS. SKIP
- Jaane Maula Jaane Khuda - Sung by Amit Kumar, not much can be said about this song except that it is bad. Very bad. SKIP!!!!
- Allah Beli - After 2 good and 2 bad tracks, one wonders what is in store for the final song. Luckily this song sung by KK turns out to be a nice one. The “Hai Tera Bhi…Allah Beli” refrains sound very good! NICE
There are also 2 remixes…one of Tum Mile and the other of Ya Baba.
6.5 out of 10. May not be anything extraordinary, but is more good than bad!

December has not been a good month for Bollywood music thus far. Unfortunately the arrival of Sunday continues this trend! Can you believe this movie has more music directors than actual songs??! Amazing!
Missing Sunday (Sandeep Chowta) -You may have heard this song playing in the promos these days. Usually promos are called promos because they “promote” the movie. But here it is the opposite effect because it is demoting the movie. Maybe we should call promos that demote movies “demos” or “demots”. Sung by Mahlia Kamath, Suraj & Earl Edgar, this song has a westernized R&B feel to it with which it tries to have that cool effect that is intended to appeal to the youth. But the problem with the song mainly is that nobody wants to listen to a song about a missing sunday! STUPIDITY AT ITS BEST!
Pyar To Hona Hi Hai (Suroor) - How many rock bands does Pakistan have? Sung by Kamran Bari & Mohammed Ali, this song has the Pakistani soft rock flavor to it but really doesn’t offer anything new. So if you are a fan if this genre you can give it a try. OKAY
Loot Liya (Daler Mehndi) - Daler Mehndi and Sunidhi Chauhan!! Is there any way this song could go wrong? The music is upbeat but on the average side. After repeated listening this song is catchy mainly because the singing of this pair is too good. Although we do wish Daler Mehndi wouldn’t do those “Loo Loo Loo Loo Loo Loo Loos” throughout the song. This song has a chance at being a chartbuster. Sunidhi Chauhan continues to make a case that she is the top female singer. CATCHY!
Kashmakash (Shibani Kashyap) - Who is this Shibani we do not know. One thing we do know now is that she is not a good music director. Song is sung by Shibani Kashyup herself. SKIP!
Manzar (Raghav Sachar) - Sung by Raghav himself, this song turns out to be one of the bright spots on the album. Song has a Raghav touch to it so if you liked his songs in the past you will like this one. GOOD!
Like many soundtracks these days, this one too has a few remixes. None are worth listening to.

Here is something interesting - this movie has 4 songs and for each song a different music director. And general knowledge tells us that seeing this many music directors in one film is bad news.
Bombay Ho Bangkok (Sukhwinder Singh) : After seeing the title of the song and the fact that it is composed Sukhwinder Singh, there is a hopeless feeling you have to have. And with Sukhwinder Singh singing lines like “Bombay ho Bangkok, rock baby rock” how much worse can things get? This one ranges from mediocre to annoying at times. SKIP
Dheere Dheere (Ronnie Shirish) : Sung by Zubeen Garg, this song tries hard to be melodious. But unfortunately is nothing more than a run-of-the mill song. If you don’t know who Ronnie Shirish is, don’t worry because neither does anybody else in the world. AVERAGE
Dil Ka Haal (Pritam) : Seeing Pritam’s name on this track did get our hopes up. And seeing that the singers are Sonu Nigam and Sunidhi Chauhan, our hopes got up even higher. But to no avail. After listening to this song it is apparent Pritam was not the very bit interested in making this song. BELOW AVERAGE
Same Same But Different (Salim-Sulaiman) : The singers of this song are KK, Shreyas Talpade, and Lena Christensen. Salim-Sulaiman (who also made the music of Chakde India) give peppy music to the song but the lyrics are way too stupid to give this song a chance. It might look okay on screen but doesn’t offer too much audio-wise. TOO SITUATIONAL
2 OUT OF 10…..Maybe the worst album of 2007?
